Super 8 home movies, shot on your iPhone
PRO8MM FILM · Super 8 film camera · 1970s · Video + slides
Before camcorders there was Super 8: three-minute cartridges, a whirring motor and colour that looked like summer forever. 8MM FILM turns your iPhone into that home-movie camera.
What it looks like
Deep, saturated reds and blues, creamy skin and inky shadows. The picture breathes and wobbles slightly in the frame, brightness flickers from frame to frame, and specks of dust and the odd scratch drift through and hang around, just as they do on a real reel.
What you can shoot
Short film clips with that lovely 18-frames-a-second cadence, plus single frames that look like slides pulled from a carousel.
Why it works
Super 8 is the shorthand for memory. Weddings, travel videos, music videos and “day in my life” edits all reach for it because it makes ordinary moments feel like keepsakes.
Tips
Shoot in daylight, keep clips short and let people move: Super 8 loves motion. Golden hour is where it shines.
Get it on your iPhone
8MM FILM is one of eight cameras in Atticam, the app that rebuilds the cameras from back then for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). It’s part of Atticam Pro, which unlocks every camera and removes the watermark. The camcorder and digicam are free to try.
